AC Milan receive last-minute bid from Zenit

While the mercato is closed in Italy it remains open in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg making an offer for AC Milan midfielder.

On Monday, at 20.00, the January transfer window closed in Italy. Milan were certainly among the protagonists of the winter window. Maldini and Massara managed to strengthen the squad with the additions of Meite, Tomori and Mandzukic and at the same time they got rid of Conti, Duarte, Musacchio and Colombo.

The incoming market is obviously closed but players can still leave. In some countries, such as Portugal and Russia, the mercato is still open. The Rossoneri, in fact, have received a last-minute offer for Rade Krunic reports Calciomercatonews.

Zenit St Petersburg are interested in the AC Milan midfielder and have offered 8-10 million euros for his services. The Rossoneri are clearly pleased with that offer since it’s the same figure they had agreed with Freiburg.

Nevertheless, the bid of Zenit was rejected. The Rossoneri brought in Soualiho Meite in January to add numbers in midfield. Letting Rade Krunic leave now would not allow AC Milan to replace him.

The future of Krunic will be discussed again in the summer but until then he is staying at Milan. The 27-year-old central midfielder has been named in the Europa League squad list while his teammate Hauge didn’t make the cut.
